Narrative Description of Project

Galabar reservoir dam to provision of the water requirement in agricultural development and water rights is about 55/7 MCM,that of this amount 49/4 MCM used in 7900 Ha coverage area for agriculture section in Zarrin Abad plain. The specification of the Zarrin Abad Main Irrigation & Drainage as follows:
Gross Coverage area: 9300 Ha
Net Coverage of Irrigation development area: 7362 Ha (G1, G2 & G3 development areas)
Length of the Main Canal: 19.2 Km
The Main canal initial capacity: 5.7 M3/s
Length of the Main pipelines: 9.7 Km
Length of the primary pipelines: 45.5 Km
Three development areas are G1, G2&G3 that detail features as follows:

The contract includes engineering services for social studies and feasibility studies of the public participation and how to create farmer organizations and WUAs for conduct management & operation of irrigation & drainage network. The objectives in assignment as follows: Investigate and determine beneficiaries , and their lands in the project area
· Encourage the participation of beneficiaries in accomplishment of project
· Leading farmers to organize cooperatives and W.U.As
· Encourage the participation of beneficiaries in construction of network, and collaborating O&M responsibilities
· Provision of training program for operation and maintenance of pressurized irrigation network

Description of actual services provided by your staff within the assignment

· Land ownership & exploitation of land and water studies
· feasibility studies of cooperative organization for project
· Determine position of existing national lands, using cadstral maps, & coordinating with official and unofficial stake holders for future exploiting of national lands
· Facilitate land owning for constructions of project
· Planning social facilitator activities in coordination with client, contractor, and other related organizations and stake holders
· Determining status of existing irrigable lands in secondary network area ( for constructions or not)
