The construction supervision and review of some studies of the dam done previously was carried out by Mahab Ghodss Consulting Engineering Co. in 2005.

Objectives

  • Supply drinking water for the city of Songhor (33.28 MCM per annum)
  • Supply irrigation water for the dam downstream farmlands (32.48 MCM per annum)
  • Supply industrial water (9.73 MCM per annum)
  • Supply environmental water (3.76 MCM per annum)

Specific Characteristics

  • Passage of the main road of Songhor – Baneh through the dam site
  • Review of the studies, construction works and construction of the replacement roads at the same time
  • Having an 88 MCM volume reservoir by constructing a dam with an earth fill volume of less than 1 MCM

Presence of the populous city of Songhor at downstream
